Meet the Hosts
Jerry & Rhonda Halteman

Jerry & Rhonda Halteman have hosted Ramble in the Woods at their home in Birdsboro, PA since 2023, and have been hosting house concerts since 2022. They started Ramble in the Woods as a way to get independent artists and songwriters to Pennsylvania. They spent a good bit of time traveling to Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida to see some of their favorite "red dirt country" artists and longed to find a way to get them to Pennsylvania, so Ramble in the Woods was born.
Jerry & Rhonda built R & J Retreat with their bare hands, motivated by their love for each other and for the music. Over the last several years, they've assembled three different stages to withstand different types of weather and have worked very hard to build Ramble in the Woods into what it is today: a fun weekend in the summer where music fans can set up their favorite camp chair and listen to the best independent country, Americana, bluegrass, and rock music under the canopy of Penn's Woods.
Past performers at R & J Retreat include Jason Eady, Courtney Patton, Jason Scott & the High Heat, Curtis Grimes, Darby Sparkman, Nick Dittmeier & the Sawdusters, Addison Lea Thompson, Justin Clyde Williams, Lucas Jagneaux & the Roadshow, Steel Hemlock, Colin King, Jake Mach, Adam & the Armadillos, Nick Casey, Cody Tyler, and Chris Major.
Since Ramble in the Woods is held at their home, they are not allowed to sell tickets. If you would like to attend, you can help support the artists at this year's festival by donating to R & J Retreat at the link below. The suggested donation for Ramble in the Woods 2026 is $40-50 per attendee. Please remember to bring your own chair and your own cooler! Rollin' Spuds food truck will be onsite with food for purchase.
